"THOSE WHO FIGHT FOR THE FUTURE LIVE IN IT TODAY"--AYN RAND

What's Barak Obama afraid of?

February 13th 2007 23:08
Click here for the subtle media spin which is deleting all references to Mr.Obama's past as a Muslim. Well, Barack Obama went to an Indonesian madrassa and no matter how much Jon Stewart spins it's a school, it's still a Islamist school. So, was he a Muslim or not? No one knows clearly. When asked whether he was a Muslim, he said believes in Christ now and and is a Member of some Church nobody heard of.

This reminds me of another media peculiarities when it comes to describing him. They keep referring him to as the first black president. His mother is white, so wouldn't that make him half-white in the least? So why keep harping on the black identity, as if its total when it's not, if not to play on identity politics?

He apaprently thinks that the route to the Presidency lies through social networking.

This man is not only immature but also insincere.

The mixed race issue is something that comes up a lot, and the white half is almost always downplayed - for example, Halle Berry identifying as being African American even though she is biracial. Of course, it is a legitimate issue to be concerned about, particularly if a person is facing discrimination because they look 'black,' but I don't think it's fair that one half of that person is deemed to be less important than the other.

Mind you, while watching the Colbert Report, there was a guest on that claimed Obama couldn't identify as 'black' or a true African American because he doesn't have slave ancestry. It seemed ridiculous to me to debate semantics, when I would assume that any issues Obama faced in that regard would be in response to how he looks and appears. Anyone bigoted against people of colour is not going to make any distinction just because his father is Kenyan.
