Republicans are closing in
November 6th 2006 05:44
Elections are tomorrow and it couldn't get any more exciting. All polls are suggesting that the and closing in fast. Many politicos say that's not enough. But, still there's hope. We can withhold doomsday scenarios at least till the elections are over. Thank you, Mr. Kerry.
The Pew Research Center's article has this to say about Democrats chances:
The narrowing of the Democratic lead raises questions about whether the party will win a large enough share of the popular vote to recapture control of the House of Representatives.
And this:
The Republicans also have made major gains, in a relatively short time period, among independent voters. Since early this year, the Democratic advantage in the generic House ballot has been built largely on a solid lead among independents. As recently as mid-October, 47% of independent voters said they were voting for the Democratic candidate in their district, compared with 29% who favored the Republican. Currently, Democrats lead by 44%-33% among independent voters.
Republicans, bless their hearts, are not going to stya at home these elections.
On the other good news, Saddam Hussein got his just desserts. It's turning out be a good week.
When I started this blog, I had not much experience but great enthusiasm for politics. I was encouraged when some standout sites like Newsbusters, noticed what I did in the Washington Post coverage, which I did couple of posts down. This is really turning out to be a good week. I can pat myself on the back.
