Iran bent on confronting the West, the West bent on running away

Iran has stormed British embassy. All those naysayers who said earlier that Britain was playing US's bitch by allowing its sailors to get captured to satrt a war with Iran, where are they now? WIll they say even this latest seizure of embassy, the press puts it mildly as "protests", was somehow prompted by the US? Maybe the CIA distirbuted all those mullahs and their students with the bricks and the "firecrackers" to protest the British embassy. That makes sense.
The good thing is that the Brits seem finally to be waking up unlike the first few days when they treated the matter as if their afternoon siesta was disturbed.
All those multilateralists and the UN fans in Australia should take note. Britain did all the right things here. They went to UN which did not even pass a resolution to condemn Iran's hostage taking. They went to EU, you know the same EU, which was grandly celebrating its 50 years afew days earlier, and the spineless club didn't even bother to consider sanctions when their member country is so deeply troubled. For they are culturally superior than those money-minded evil capitalist American zomabies, so naturally they will choose to keep their trade going rather than risk it by fighting for their ally. If there's a meanignful power that's left, it's the US and curiously enough, it was the US that Britain didn't go to. Tony Blair has huge capital of good will in America and he is not using it. Why? When you have a superpower like the US as a firend, why shun it and instead go to feckless organizations like the UN and the EU?
But you see that's the kind of topsy turvy world we are living in. Australia thankfully hasn't sunken to such a low level yet.
President Bush has kept quiet for so long because the UK was afraid he would ratchet up the situation, being a warmonger and all. Well, he kept quiet till now. That didn't stop Iran from ratcheting up from its end. It was almost like the mullahs were disappointed with the non-reaction of the British. First, they paraded the sailors like cattle, then they made the female sailor write a letter, one, two, three letters, then another sailor was made to confess, then they were paraded once again and then the UK embassy was bombed ( or just peppered with firecrackers.)
They are spoiling for a fight. Let's give them one.
