Democrats win House, Senate almost

Yep, the Democrats have won the House and are on verge of taking the Senate. The victors are gloating. Let them gloat.
I have as of now no hope that GOP will regain Presidency on 2008. Then, my dear Republicans, you will be a minority party in senate, house and will lose the Presidency, and almost become redundant footnote in politcal history. This painfully built conservative movement will vanish. Rejoice!
What's done the Republicans in? It is the negative attitude of all the conservatives and party base that Republican Party deserved to lose because of some screwy idea of small government issues that they feel Bush has flouted. Look at these posts here and here . They are typical. With this mentality I wonder why Republicans bothered to contest at all.
Republicans deserved to lose because they were not following small government conservatism? And how do you propose to solve that? By handing the power to bigger government party?
Admittedly, President Bush didn't come up trumps in migration, deficits or any other standard issues like that. Yeah, bring back your troops home without the war finished, as certainly the Democrats are going to do. That will reduce your deficits, I'm sure.
