Democrats Snubbed. Twice.

Democrats have failed and failed twice, in getting a resolution passed in the Senate criticising the Surge. But, you don't find any headlinessaying Democrats were "snubbed" or "refuted", the choice words they used to describe Pres. Bush, when they sneaked in a pitiful resolution in the House.

That's a noble sentiment but I would be careful about the so-called Blue-Dog Democrats. How many Blue-Dog Democrats switched party lines and voted against the House measure? Just two. It feels good to think there are some nice Sccop Johnson Democrats, the Blue Dog Democrats, obviously they have to win the elections, but I'd be very careful about those, because after the elections, they don't seem to be Scoop Johnson democrats left.

This will be a long and serious effort, but it starts now. We have established a team within the site that will focus on identifying strong candidates -- veterans, ideally --- as well as teams devoted to identifying White Flag Republicans and their antimatter opposites, the Blue Dog Democrats. These three groups will be at the forefront of our efforts to identify the districts where we can do the most good: whether that is to replace a defeatist Democrat with a new Republican victory candidate --- or to help a Blue Dog Democrat who is strong on the war take down a White Flag Republican. Here, party comes second: victory --- and country --- come first.
