"THOSE WHO FIGHT FOR THE FUTURE LIVE IN IT TODAY"--AYN RAND

Ann Coulter calls John Edwards a"faggot"

March 3rd 2007 07:15
At CPAC. Raising a mini firestorm of indignation from both sides of the aisle.

She said, " I would comment on John Edwards But you have to go into a rehab if you use the word "faggot."

But, more than Coulter's joke, the thing that made me crack up was this rejoinder by Howard Dean :

There is no place in political discourse for this kind of hate-filled and bigoted comments. While Democrats and Republicans may disagree on the issues, we should all be able to agree that this kind of vile rhetoric is out of bounds. The American people want a serious, thoughtful debate of the issues. Republicans -- including the Republican presidential candidates who shared the podium with Ann Coulter today -- should denounce her hateful remarks."

It's obvious that he is using Coulter's remarks to go after Mitt Romney.

The conservative bloggers are all irritated because they do not want to be associated by this kind of "bomb-throwing". Being conservative, they expect to fight their political battle with kid gloves.Or else, they are trulya fraid to take on the llib-machine.

But, it is the liberal blogs that are really outstanding. I mean a day does not go when liberals descend further into gutter by their serious malaise of BDS( Danny devito, The View etc etc, the examples are too numerous to cite.) And yet, here's one stray remark by a conservative diva and they are all acting like prima donnas and Victorian dowagers. A faggot? Ye Gods, what an odious thing to say! Why didn't the heavens burst open?

My point is not whether Ann's remarks were tasteless or not. My point is the kind of reaction she generates. It's kind of funny because it reveals a curious reversal. It is the liberals, the subversives, the radicals who ahve become passe today and no matter how hard they try to be outrageous, they are jaded, dull and boring . it is the cosnervative who can rankle tempers and ruffle feathers. Isn't it curious? For that alone, I heartfully support Ann Coulter.
