Qantas refuses a free ride

January 23rd 2007 07:47
Qantas has barred an airline passenger from flying after he wore a t-shirt saying world's no.1 terrorist is George Bush. Allen Johnson, a 55 year old IT expert was politely asked to remove the t-shirt but when he refused Qantas refused to fly him on their airliner. The guy of course whines that his free speech has been violated. As littlegreenfootballs.com puts it so nicely, Qantas is a private air-carrier and it has every right to specify the minimum standards that passengers are supposed to maintain on its plain. if it feels these kind of messages might upset other passengers and upet the security of the plane, they have every right to intercede.

Well, its heartening to notice at least one of those shrill moonbats given their due. Qantas rocks anyway. Its flights are best in the world. Now if it only had prettier airhostesses like the Singapore Airlines.

And still better, John Howard reshuffles his cabinet and remanes the DIMIA(department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs) as Department of Immigration and Citizenship. NIce work!

Hillary Clinton is in

January 21st 2007 15:34
Hillary Clinton has annnounced she's in. She's not campaigning, just conversing. Looking for ideas. That's all. Not to be overshadowed, Barak Osama, oops, Barak Obama is running in speedos, announcing his bid for presidency on Vanity Fair. And John Edwards did it in front of Katrina rubble.

Hillary, Obama and John Edwards against Mccain, Rudy Giuliani and Mitt Romney. Hmm. Vanity Fair is the right place for the former trio.

Democrats show their true colors

January 15th 2007 07:09
Democrats have been in business just a week and already they are showing their true colors. Do you think they want to stand up for poor everywhere? After all, isn't that supposed to be the reason why they have increased minimum wage? Well, think otherwise. Because, American Samoa won't be geeting any pay rise. Why? Speaker Nancy Pelosi's husband has a lot of interest in a company that's based in Samoa.

And you thought they stood for gender and racial equality? Think again. According to Barbara Boxer, a black motherless woman isn't fit to make decisions about national strategy.

And and do you think they stood for bi-partisanship? Wasn't that their platform ticket? That went down the first day when they refused to allow Republicans any say in the proceedings.

Let's see. Their beliefs are that poor Samoans are not fit for minimum wage rise and black, motherless women are not fit for making policy decisions.

Their election was a big media gift but it's also an opportunity for the rest of us. Anybody who has forgotten how hypocritical and self-serving these people can be, they are going to show the whole world.

And by the way, I think C-Span has been hassled or something not to show the Democratic Congress in action. That's for transparency.

Hate Speech and other Red Herrings

January 10th 2007 02:02
I have been thinking about this for a long time. They are usually called the PC brigade, you know, the people who force down politically correct doublespeak down our throats. But to call them PC is just plain inadequate. If they did that to everybody, there'd be no problem at all except life would a bit duller than it already is. But, they selectively impose these rules on only some sections of the society and therein lies the rub.

If you are Democrat for instance, you can call a black republican a nigger or a slave, you can bring in ethnic cleansing and other offesnive terms without batting an eyelid. If you are a Republican senator you can lose your seat for joking about somebody being a macaca. It doesn't stop there. If you post anti-jihad videos on the internet, you'llbe removed in no time but you can post terrorist video replete with grand scenes showing Coalition troops being killed and Hamas and Hizbollah can actually post recruitment videos and nobody has a problem with that

What's he gonna do?

January 7th 2007 07:17
State of the Union. That august occassion when the President of the republic lays down the program for the year. George Bush has given many such addresses before. But this year is different. This year he will be facing for the first time, a democratic majority in both the house and the senate. People who are planning to cut and run, turn obsturcionist, defeatist and shoot themselves in the leg. People who might not cheer him when he speaks. The despicable Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid have already shot a letter advising Bush to surrender. The valiant John Mccain, together with the Joe Lieberman, have advised the exact opposite.

Still, it will be the most important address because we will know whether Bush will stand up to them or cave in. Most conservative commentators are confident that the President will do whatever it takes to win in Iraq.I don't know. I'd pray to something if I had something to pray to. Let's just say, I'll be waiting with bated breath to see what happens

100 hours of stumbling

January 4th 2007 06:29
Fancy Pelosi is the Speaker of the House, Democrats have majorities in both the House and the Senate and pigs are flying in the sky. They are going to start their work today and already Cindy Sheehan and other "liberal activists" have turned up to demand their pound of flesh. They believe that the Democrats won the elections because of them which is rather a true statement. Now that they are inpower, Cinndys of the world are worried that the Donks will quickly dump them.

Everybody is also going gaga on how a woman has occupied such a lofty position such as this Bloomberg puff-piece here. Take care Nancy. It all depends on yo now. Don't let the sisterhoood down. After all, ther's a chance that people might not vote a woman into lofty anything for another 100 years

Hollywood becoming relevant again

January 2nd 2007 06:47
Wasn't it last year that the self-important jumpsuits described as the maverick year of the American cinema? When agitprop and anal subversive movies ruled the roost? And its not just the top undistiguished bunch of movies that made it to the lamest Oscars of the century. Every small movie seemed riddled with propaganda, stuck in a temporoary aphasia of imagination produced by 2nd Bush victory.

Why so squeamish?

January 1st 2007 18:42
Saddam Husein is dead. But, the Moaning Myrtles of the Left are still hoarse over the capital punishment he so deservedly got. I am sure you many of you have all read their pitiable moanings and grumblings. One things I can't understand about the Lefties is their disgust with capital punsihment.

After all, these are people who fetishize about Stalin, Mao, Che, Arafat and other dictators who each is responsible for zillions of deaths. Which means that they admire those countless killings too. After all, they fantasize about French chic and glamour, the same France which helped train Rwandese to kill million of their own men

It ain't that bad

January 1st 2007 18:21
I am sure you must have all been bombarded by this press nugget by AP, "U.S. death toll in Iraq reaches 3000." AP described it as a grim milestone. Just a few days ago another "grim milestone" was reached. American deaths in Iraq had surpassed the death toll of 9/11 attacks.

Just to refresh. 2,403 Americans died in Pearl Harbour. And the number of Americans who died in the war precipiated by that attack? 407,300 military deaths and 11,200 civilian deaths
