Qantas refuses a free ride
January 23rd 2007 07:47
Qantas has barred an airline passenger from flying after he wore a t-shirt saying world's no.1 terrorist is George Bush. Allen Johnson, a 55 year old IT expert was politely asked to remove the t-shirt but when he refused Qantas refused to fly him on their airliner. The guy of course whines that his free speech has been violated. As littlegreenfootballs.com puts it so nicely, Qantas is a private air-carrier and it has every right to specify the minimum standards that passengers are supposed to maintain on its plain. if it feels these kind of messages might upset other passengers and upet the security of the plane, they have every right to intercede.
Well, its heartening to notice at least one of those shrill moonbats given their due. Qantas rocks anyway. Its flights are best in the world. Now if it only had prettier airhostesses like the Singapore Airlines.
And still better, John Howard reshuffles his cabinet and remanes the DIMIA(department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs) as Department of Immigration and Citizenship. NIce work!
